Job Posting: Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Otonabee-South Monaghan Public Library, Keene, ON
Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Schedule: Includes days, evenings, and some weekends
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Per Hour: Step 1 - $21.37



About Us
The Otonabee-South Monaghan Public Library is a vibrant community hub dedicated to providing inclusive access to information, technology, and lifelong learning. We are seeking a creative and tech-savvy Community Engagement Coordinator to help us connect with our community in meaningful and innovative ways.


About the Role
As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will lead the Library’s digital outreach and promotional efforts. You’ll manage our social media presence, assist with website updates, support programming, and help patrons with digital tools. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community engagement, digital communication, and public service.


What You’ll Do
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to promote library services and events
  • Create and distribute digital and print promotional materials
  • Maintain and update the Library’s website and Library staff & event calendar
  • Attend community events to represent and promote the Library
  • Assist with digital literacy workshops and public programs
  • Monitor analytics and report on outreach effectiveness
  • Provide basic tech support and customer service to patrons
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other staff on strategic outreach initiatives
What We’re Looking For
  • Post-secondary diploma in communications, graphic design, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Ads, Google Forms, and Canva
  • Strong communication, copywriting, and design skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Public library experience is an asset
